Larger and larger increments of things are needed to notice a change.
What is Inattention?
when our attn is limited and we dont pay attn to everything

problems finding bathroom, lack of landmarks, orientation is off
What does Brunswiks model comprise of?
Applies to envi perception. The setting itself/distal cues/proximal cues/the setting judged.
What is terrestrial saucer effect?
when things are misjudged (thinking a hill is uphill when its not, thinking neighboring mountains are larger when in fact they are the same size.
what is envi perception?
initial gathering of information.
what is envi cognition?
how we think about places
what is time sampling?
a type of self report that tests in intervals to what the participant is paying attn to at that exact time.
what are some principles of wayfinding?
nodes, landmarks, paths, edges, districts.
what are 2 components of scene perception?
aesthetics and utilitarian purposes
what is habituation?
getting used to an area. whether it has smog, or home under a flight path…
what is optic flow
how fast things by you. move faster when you are closer to the ground (sports car)
what are the advantages and dis of self reporting
person can give an account of something. memory can be flawed, and they may just be trying to help the research and fabricate their answers

if people are able to tell the difference between two things
