The governor-generals job is given the royal assent, a formal approval by the governor-general, and the final step where the law comes into action.

The Senate

What is the difference between the way in which Members of the House of Representatives are elected and the way in which Senators are elected?
Members of the House of Representatives are voted in by their electorate . The public in the electorate vote for a person to represent their area in parliament. Members of the senate are voted in by all people in the state. The public vote for a party and the party select the senators.
Outline the 2 main functions of the senate
One of the main functions of the senate is to vote on new proposals before they become laws. Another function of the senate is to take another look at the legislation.
What is a political party?
It is a group of people who come together and discuss their opinions and values.
How do state and territory governments attempt to improve air quality?
State and territory governments have environmental laws which restrict the levels of pollution released in the air e.g. Emissions from factories, motor vehicle emissions
What are reserve powers?
Power to summon, open and dissolve parliament
