MIN-The benefits of government that cannot be denied to any citizen by majority decisions.
Political equality: Equality in political decision making: one vote per person, with all votes counted equally.

Pluralism

A

majoritarianism(mass public), elite/class theory (the wealthy) (the view that a small group makes most important government decisions)

  • ruled by the people, contains interest groups, numerous (plural) institutions of overlapping government
  • James Madison called the interest groups factions from the federalist 10
  • competition for support/money/members/legislation
