All-in-one Computer
Eliminates the need for a separate tower because these computers house the computer’s processor and memory in the monitor unit.
All-in-one printer
A device that combines the functions of a printer, scanner, copier, and fax into one machine.
Application Software
Application software, also known as an application or an app, is computer software designed to help the user to perform specific tasks.
Aspect ratio
In computer graphics, the relative horizontal and vertical sizes. For example, if a graphic has an aspect ratio of 2:1, it means that the width is twice as large as the height.
Binary digit (bit)
The smallest unit of data in a computer. A bit has a single binary value, either 0 or 1.
Binary Language
A binary code is a way of representing text or computer processor instructions by the use of the binary number system’s two-binary digits 0 and 1.
Blue-ray Disk (BD)
An optical disc storage medium designed to supersede the DVD format. The plastic disc is 120 mm in diameter and 1.2 mm thick, the same size as DVDs and CDs.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a proprietary open wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distance.
Brightness
Measured as candelas per square meter or nits, and is a measure of the greatest amounts of light showing when the monitor is displaying pure white.
Byte
In most computer systems, a byte is a unit of data that is eight binary digits long. A byte is the unit most computers use to represent a character such as a letter.
