Ascenders
A special character that is used in durations of time or continuation.
En dash
A small stroke at the edge of characters.
Serif
Parts of characters that extend below the baseline.
Descenders
A typeface that does not contain serifs.
Sans Serif
A special symbol that is used to indicate a pause in speech.
Em dash
The distance between the baseline and the top of capital letters.
Cap Height
This typeface allots the same amount of horizontal space for each character.
Monospaced
The height of the main body of the lowercase characters.
x-height
This is a Word Feature that can be used to create title pages for reports, etc…
