Realism
A term that explains international relations in terms of power
- They view the situation/ the world for how it really is and not what it ought to be

It states that International law, morality and key organizations shape international events.

- The ability for a state to influence another to do what it wants.

Game theory
analyzes strategic interactions including cooperation, bargaining, negotiation. Basically predicts how individuals or entities behave in certain situations.
Zero-sum games
Where one players game coresondingly comes from anothers loss (chess).
Non-Zero-Sum games
Not like a tit for tat game, but a negotiation where both parties can be better off.
The prisoners dilemma
- mutual benefit
- one party pays, while the other gets off (betrayal)
- mutual harm
How does the prisoners dilemma is in corespondance with the collective good?
Where individual nations will prioratize self-interest over the collective good of the situation.
Liberalism
How states, interest groups and individuals persue peace and prosperity.
Constructivism
How states construct their interests, through their interactions with one another. (identity and common interest)
Marxism
analyzing the dynamics of capitalism, class struggle by people above in the hierarchy oppress those below, and materialism.
