-It is the problem of how to provide something that benefits all group members. (a resolution to all countries fairly in a conflict)

How does the government solve the collective goods within a country?
- Taxes
Dominance
- It solves the dilemma by establishing a hierarchy, such as the worlds superpowers; USA, Russia.
Advantages of dominance:
- Forces the members to comply with the common good
- Minimizes open conflict
Disadvantages of dominance:
- Constant oppression of those on a lower level of the hierarchy
- Conflicts over the standing of the hierarchy
Reciprocity
- Rewards the behavior that contributes to the group and punishes those who pursue self-interest
Disadvantages of reciprocity
-creates a tit-for-tat situation
Advantages of reciprocity
- mainatains social order
- promotes cooperation
- Fairness

- all view each other as one identity and not individual identity
- sacrifice for the group

- How states interact with one another whether it is 2 parties (bilateral) or more (multilateral)
Global governance:
- cooperation and coordination between states and NGOs in addressing global challenges (climate change)
Nation
A group of people sharing a common identity.
State
Political identity with recognized sovereignty.
Nation-state
Political identity is where a sovereign state aligns with the cultural identity of a specific nation.
