Nurse Practice Act entails…
1) Nurses are responsible for their own actions
2) If a healthcare providers order is ambiguous or inappropriate, the nurse must clarify the medication order with the healthcare provider
3) Do not give medication prepared by another nurse unless identification and are intact
4) it is within the nurse’s legal domain to administer medications in a safe and timely mannner

places medication underneath the upper lip or in the side of the mouth

medications designed to be absorbed through the skin for systemic effects

Used to treat eye irritation, infections or glaucoma
Ophthalmic medications
Solutions may be dropped into the ear

Solutions that are sprayed into the nose
