Chapter 19 (Equilibrium Constant) Flashcards
How is mole fraction found?
Number of moles of a gas / total number of moles of all gas
How is partial pressure found?
Mole fraction x total pressure of gas
What factor changes Kp?
Temperature
What happens to Kp if pressure is changed?
Will move to oppose the change.
If pressure increases then equilibrium shifts to the side with less fewer moles of gas.
What happens to Kp if temperature is changed?
Will move to oppose the change.
If temperature increases then equilibrium will shift to endothermic side to oppose the change and decrease the temperature.
What unit is Kp measured in?
pa or Kpa
What is a heterogenous reaction?
Substances are in different phases.
What is a homogenous reaction?
All substances are in same phase.
