Slaveowners feared that non slaveholding might abandon them
Was banned from south b/c of its “dirty allusions”
New England Emigrant Aid Company
A famous antislavery organization that sent 2,000 people to troubled area (Kansas) to turn against south and to also make a profit
“Beecher’s Bibles”
Carried by the NEEAC. New deadly breech-loading Sharps rifles. Named after Reverend Henry Ward Beecher (Harriet’s brother) who helped raise money for them
