because Henry Ford made so many and it costed less because he lowered prices so no one could compete

created a trust with his oil companies, lowered prices so others couldn’t compete
What dangers did factory workers face?
breathing in fibers or duct, lung diseases, burns, death, etc.
What were the goals of labor unions?
safer working conditions, higher wages, shorter hours
What methods did the AFL use to try and get fair working conditions?
collective bargaining, strikes, and skilled workers
why did many people leave their homelands?
the amount of farmland was shrinking and there weren’t as many jobs
what hardships did immigrants face?
not understanding the language, leaving home and family, starting a new life, need for a job, etc
how did immigrants assimilate?
learned to speak English, playing American sports, dressing like native-born Americans, etc
why did nativists oppose immigration
they didn’t want immigrants to spread their cultures and take their jobs
