A movement led by Abd al Wahhabi. It was to inherit and return to the old laws of strict Muslim life with the sharia & Islamic beliefs at its center.

A Chinese philosopher who said it is possible to become virtuous without following Confucianism, old traditions, and education.

A time period when the Chinese based everything on evidence rather than blindly believing.

A Bhakti poet devoted to the Gods rather than her own family and husband. She helped break down the caste system.
Sikhism
A peaceful monotheistic religion that blended Islamic and Hindu elements. It was founded by Guru Nanak.
Copernicus
A famous mathematician & astronomer who inspired others and did a lot of his work in astronomy. He said the sun was at the center of the solar system while other planets orbited it.

A famous physicist who focused on universal gravitation, invented calculus, and made formulas along with concepts of inertia and his 3 laws of motion
European Enlightenment
A movement in Europe where the Scientific Revolution provided an understanding to life and human affairs. It focused on education and believed knowledge could transform the human world.
Volatire
A French writer who focused on enlightenment and wrote a book on injustice acts, what was intolerant, what was cruel, and what was unnecessary.
Condorcet & the Idea of Progress
A French philosopher’s ideas was saying that the human life was inevitably moving into one of slavery, oppression, racism, discrimination, and aggression. It was very pessimistic.
