Regular Verb
forms past and past participle by adding -ed to the base
Irregular Verb
forms in some other way than adding -ed
Present Tense
same as verbs base form. Expresses a constant action/condition

expresses an action/condition that began and ended in the past
Future Tense
expresses an action/condition that occurs in a future
Past Perfect Tense
indicates one past action/condition began and ended before another past action/condition started
Future Perfect Tense
one future action/condition that begins and ends before another
Progressive Forms
expresses continuing action
Emphatic Forms
add special force or emphasis to the verb
Compatibility of Tenses
forgot - stops (wrong)
forgot - stopped (correct)
Voice Verbs: Active
subject performs the action
Voice Verbs: Passive
action is performed on subject
