Definition: Adequate airport?

A

Adequate airport looks at

  • availability.
  • overflight and landing authorisations.
  • capability of ground assistance. Ie met and air info services offices, lighting.
  • availability of at least one app.
  • reqd rescue fire category.
  • availability of VASI’s unless doing precision app or using HGS.

A

Airport approved for normal ops and does not require an alternate for the reqd period.
Still suitable if there is a tempo or inter provided the gas is carried (60mins).
