The systematic murder of 6 million Jews by Nazi Germany during WWII. Comes from a Greek word meaning “sacrifice by burning” became apart of the English language in the 1950s

What was Kristallnacht?
The night of November 9th, 1939. Violence against jews was starting to rise. Mobs of German people destroyed property and businesses of Jewish people.
What does “Kristallnacht” translate too?
The night of Broken Glass

What was the Einsatzgruppen?
Specially trained SS mobile killing units that were sent into German-occupied territories to round up the Jews, taken to deserted areas, forced to dig open pits then shot and were buried in these pits.
What were the holes dug up by Jews who were later shot called?
Mass Graves
What later happened to the Einsatzgruppen?
The killers were affected psychologically by the mass killings. The graves left behind evidence of the horrible crimes.
