Paraphilia

Sadomasochism
psychological tendency or sexual practice characterized by both sadism and masochism.

the tendency to derive pleasure, especially sexual gratification, from one’s own pain or humiliation.
S&M Examples
-Mild S&M behaviors very common between consenting partners. Many people enjoy being bitten, slapped on the buttocks, pinched, scratched, or pinned down during sex.
Rather than extreme pain, the distinctive feature of -S&M/D&S role-playing sex games is domination (or discipline) and submission.
-Pain is erotically arousing only as part of the agreed-upon ritual or fantasy “script.”
-Mutual consent, trust, concern for each other’s safety, sexual and emotional pleasure are characteristics of healthy S&M (D&S) play.
-Most players are well-educated, socially and emotionally well-adjusted, and generally engage in ordinary consensual sex.
Asphyxiophilia
- Individuals achieving sexual arousal by restricting breathing
- Person is deprived of oxygen
- Rope, noose, belt, or paper bag
- Associated with transvestitism, bondage, and fetishes
