Line organization, plus staff. Staff doesn’t have to report to the line
Matrix Organizations
Specialists come in from outside the organization
report to 2 people
Centralization
the activities of an organisation become concentrated within a particular location and/or group
Decentralization
the process of redistributing or dispersing functions, powers, people or things away from a central location or authority
Theory X
needs someone to tell them what to do
Theory Y
people are more independent
