Why did they change Octavian’s name too Augustus?

What does ‘Augustus’ mean?
It means “Respected One” or “Holy One”
What did Augustus allow?
He allowed diversity. For example, conquered people continued to practice their own religions and speak their own languages
What did the assassination of Julius Caesar lead to?
Another civil war in Rome
Octavian agreed to share the leadership of Rome with Mark Antony, and Lepidus, what did they form together?
The second triumvirate
Brutus and Cassius, the senators who had led the attack on Caesar, occupied the lands to the east, and a civil war broke out. Who won?
Octavian and Antony won the civil war against them
Lepidus tried to overthrow Octavian. What did Octavian do?
He took away Lepidus’s role in the Triumvirate
Antony and Octavian soon ended their alliance as they struggled to control Roman Lands. Afterward, what Antony do?
Antony met with Cleopatra the 7th, the Queen of Egypt. Antony then decided to share his power with Cleopatra.
Due too Antony sharing his power with Cleopatra, what did he get in exchange?
Cleopatra provided Antony with money, supplies and food for his troops

Outnumbered, Antony and Cleopatra set sail for Egypt. octavian followed Antony and Cleopatra to Egypt. Soon enough, Cleopatra and Antony died, and Octavian conquered Egypt and made it a province of Rome

Why did the Senate, Assemblies, and Tribunes existed if Augustus had absolute power?
Augustus tried to preserve for Rome’s citizens the idea that they still lived in a republic
Advantages of Augustus turning into an Emperor
He brought peace and stability, he won widespread support due to him being wise and strong, wars over leadership in Rome ended, His empire was diverse, and he achieved balance in ruling the provinces
Since Augustus has such a big empire, he needed a language that the whole Empire could understand, what was this language?
Latin was the official language in in Rome’s western lands, in the east, Greek was the official language, even though no one was obligated to learn these languages
