Twenty-Second Amendment
Presidential term limit to 2 four year terms
Twenty-fifth Amendment
(Ratified in 1967) Amendment that allows the Vice President to take the place of the President if he/she becomes unable to work as president

Executive Orders
Orders the president uses to control the Cabinet
Cabinet
Presidential advisors that every presidents has, consisting of an attorney general, 14 secretaries, and others that the president picks.
National Security Council
The committee that links the president’s foreign and military policy advisers. Its members are the president, Vice President, Secretary of State, and secretary of defense, and it is managed by the president’s national security assistant.
Council of Economic Advisers
A three member body appointed by the president to advise the president on economic policy.
Office of Management and Budget
An office that prepares the presidents’s budget and also advises presidents on proposals from departments and agencies and helps review their proposed regulations
Veto
If a president does not like a bill he can send it back to Congress, however 2/3 of a vote in each house can override it
Pocket veto
A bill can suffer this when congress breaks off sending a bill 10 days of submitting the bill the the president, he can simply let it die by ignoring it.
Presidential coattails
When voters vote for a candidate only because they support the presidents party.
War Powers Resolution
(Passed in 1973) law that requires the president to notify congress that he/she will be using military force , and do withdraw them 60 days after.
Legislative veto
A veto in Congress to override a presidential decision
Crisis
A dangerous event that requires the president to take action and play the role of crisis manager
Fiscal year
A time period used for taxing or accounting purposes
Guns V Butter
A budget way how a country decides to allocate it’s resources. Guns(defense) and butter(all other programs e.g. Medicare)
Debt ceiling
A limit set to the amount of money that can be borrowed by the gov’t
Sequestration
Taking legal possession for things until the debt has been paid or claims have been met
Omnibus bill
A bill that covers a number of diverse topics
Reconciliation
a legislative process of the United States Senate intended to allow consideration of a budget bill with debate limited to twenty hours under Senate rules.
PORK
government money spent in a particular area in order to get political advantages; used to show disapproval
Appropriations
In appropriations bills, Congress and the president state the amount of money that will be
spent on federal programs during the next fiscal year.
Authorizations
Congress and the president establish programs through the authorization process.
