Female sexuality
Female sexuality is the integrated, unique expression of self that includes the physiologic and psychological processes inherent in sexual development.
Rights and sex
All women have a right to intimidate and sexual lives and relationships that are voluntary, wanted, pleasurable, and noncoercive.
Sexual orientation
Sexual orientation is the erotic or romantic attraction or preference for sharing sexual expression with persons of a specific gender.
Sexual orientation is not always reflected in sexual practices.
Sexual health
Sexual health is the integration of the somatic, emotional, intellectual, and social aspects of sexual being, in ways that are positively enriching and that enhance personality, communication, and love.
Also, sexual health may be considered those factors that enable women to enjoy and control their sexual and reproductive lives, including a physical and emotional state of well-being, and the quality of sexual and other close relationships.
Questions to assess a sexual behavior
- What does the behavior mean to the woman?
- Does the behavior enrich or impoverish the sexual life of the woman?
- Is the behavior tolerable to society?
- Is the behavior between two consenting adults?
- Does the behavior cause physical or psychological harm to the woman or her partner?
- Does the behavior involve coercion?
