What are the Antitubercular Drugs
Leboflaxacin, moxifloxacin, kanamycin, amikacin
Intended responses to antitubercular drugs
reduce cough, reduce sputum production, reduce fatigue, gain weight, negative sputum culture
Side effects of Izoniazid
Breast tenderness, enlargment, loss of appetite, difficulty concentrating, sore throat, peripheral neuropathy (VIT B)
Rifampin side effects
Abdominal pain, urinary retintion, red/orange secreations, interacts with warfarin
Pyrazinamide side effects
aches, acne, photosensitivity, increased uric acid levels, they need 3 liters of water per day
Ethambutol side effects
Increased of uric acid also
In general adverse affects
Liver toxicity and many drug interactions
Adverse Isoniazid
peripheral neuropathy
adverse rifampin
hypersensitivity to sulfite products and can cause anemia
adverse ethambutol
optic neuritis
teach to rifampin patients
watch for anemia, sulfite allergies, urinary retention and stains shit red
teach pyrazinamide and ethambutol
drink water, watch the sun
isoniazid teaching
watch for peripheral neuropathy, NO CAFFIENE
