Benevolent sexism
The offer of protection for those women who conform to traditional gender roles

Illusory correlation
An incorrect belief that 2 things are related when they are in fact not related
Realistic group conflict theory
When groups compete for limited resources, these groups experience conflict, prejudice, and discrimination
Modern racism
The average person will engage in discrimination, only when there is a suitable disguise or rationalization for such behavior
Outgroup homogeneity effect
The tendency to assume that members of out groups are “all alike” whereas members of ingroups have differences
Subtyping
A process whereby people come to view individuals who don’t fit a stereotype as exceptions or as poor members of a group
