Q

Law of diminishing marginal returns?

A

idea that economic efficiency has an optimal level of population, and after its once reached, per capita levels begin to drop

This means, the more people there are, the less contribution the last one makes to national output.

Q

Why not let more immigrants come into Canada?

A

While we wouldn’t have to pay more taxes, we wouldn’t have to pay less either. plus, the gov spends hundreds of millions on programs for immigrants. they also increase the costs of housing, education, and social costs.

Q

What were the previously thoughts about immigrants, and are they true?

A

none are true.
they don’t steal jobs, they do pay taxes. and they don’t make Canadians earn less money. there is no evidence that they are a burden or a benefit.
