- Essential Benefit
- Core Product
- Enhanced Product
Essential Benefit
Basic function of an offering without which no alue can be delivered (ex. metro transit OKC)
Core Product
Manifestation of the essential benefit into a tangible offering; Starting point of product experience. (Ex. Bus drivers)
Enhanced Product
Non-essential aspects that nevertheless help to exceed customer expectations (Ex. Hybrid or CNG buses)
Consumer Goods
Convenience goods, shopping goods, specialty goods, unsought goods.
Brand
A name, term, sign, symbol, or design, or a combination of them, intended to identify the goods or services of one seller or groups of sellers and to differentiate them from those competitors.”

- Brand conveys info about the product
- Brands educate the customer about the product
- Brands help reassure the customer in the purchase decision

- Brands offer legal protection for the product through a trademark
- Brands offer an effective and efficient methodology for categorizing proucts
Brand Equity
A set of assets (and liabilities) linked o a brand’s name and symbol that adds to (or subtracts from) the value provided by a product or service to a firm or that firm’s customers.”
