Describes communication as a two-way process of reciprocal action.
Interaction Metaphor
Communication with or between persons.
Interpersonal Communication
This happens when a person uses a mass communication context for interpersonal communication or when a person uses an interpersonal communication context for mass communication.
Mass Personal Communication
Communication or messages that are transmitted through some type of medium.
Mediated Communication
Communication further expands upon the idea that communication influences communicators.
Social Construction Metaphor
The set of social judgments members of a group agree upon.
Social Reality
People are connected through communication, and that they accomplish something in communication beyond (trans-) merely relaying messages back and forth.
Transaction Metaphor
The sender is portrayed as active, but the receiver is passive. This has serious metaphors.
