Paleolithic Age
AKA Old Stone Age, the period lasted from 2.5 million BCE to around 8000 BCE. Achievements of this era include controlling fire and the creation of stone tools
Hominid
a primate of a family ( Hominidae ) that includes humans and their fossil ancestors, and also (in recent systems) at least some of the great apes.
Neolithic
aka new stone age, lasted from 8000 bce to 3000 bce. Achievements include polished stone tools, pottery and the domestication of plants and animals

the species name for modern humans
