The Allied Health Care Continuum
Composed of healthcare professionals who are credentialed through certifications, registrations, and license to provide services to identify, prevent, and treat diseases and disorders.
Professional Certificate
A voluntary process by which a governmental body such as ACE, grants a limited recognition and use of credentials that represents that they have demonstrated that criteria has been met for required knowledge.
Certificate
Education or training program on a specific topic for which participants receive a certificate after attendance and/ or completion of course work.
Knowledge base Certificate
Recognizes a relatively narrow scope of specialized knowledge used in performing duties in a specific profession.
Curriculum Bases Certificate
issued after an applicant completes a course or series of courses and passes an assessment instrument. Examples include specialty certificates.
Certificate of Completion or Participation
Issued after an individual attends or participates in a specific learning event. Typically there is no knowledge assed prior to issuing this certificate. (conferences)
Licensure
The mandatory process by which a government agency grants a limited time permissions to engage in an occupation after they have met criteria.
Scope of Practice
The legal range of services that a professional can provide within a given field. The settings, and the guidelines and parameters.
