Alloparents
Is when multiple caregivers are involved in the rearing of children.
Chronosystem
The effect of time on various interacting systems that shape a person’s development such as technology.
Ethnotheories
Is how a parent believes what is the natural or correct way to raise a child, and culture plays a role in it.
Exosystem
Involve links among social systems in which the child does not participate, but that has a direct bearing on parents such as economic, war, and so on.
Microsystem
Includes interactions with more people, such as caregivers in childcare settings, and teachers in preschool.
Mesosystem
The partnerships between parents and teachers.
Insecure-Avoidant Attachment
A child does not show any distress when mother returns and shows little interest when mother returns.
Insecure-Resistant/Ambivalent Attachment
Is when the child shows distress when the mother leaves, and approaches the mother when she returns but resist contact and might even push away the parent.
Secure Attachment
Is when the child cries when the mother leaves, but is happy when she returns, and uses mother as a secure base to explore.
