Right Upper Quadrant contains what organs?

Left Upper Quadrant contains what organs?
stomach, left kidney, spleen, portion the colon and pancreas
Right Lower Quadrant contains what organs?
appendix, colon, small intestine, ureter, major vein & artery to the right leg
Left Lower Quadrant contains what organs?
colon, small intestine, ureter, major vein & artery to the right leg
Why do clinicians use quadrants and regions?
They use it as a reference point for underlying organs.
Right Hypochondriac Region organs:
liver, right kidney, gallbladder, large/small intestine
Left Hypochondriac Region organs:
liver’s tip, stomach, pancreas, left kidney, spleen, large/small intestine
Epigastric Region organs:
liver, stomach, spleen, duodenum, adrenal glands, pancreas
Right Lumbar Region organs:
ascending colon, small intestines, right kidney
Left Lumbar Region organs:
descending colon, small intestines, left kidney
Umbilical Region organs:
duodenum, small intestine, transverse colon
Right Iliac Region organs:
appendix, cecum, ascending colon, small intestine
Left Iliac Region organs:
sigmoid colon, descending colon, small intestines
Hypogastric Region organs:
bladder, sigmoid colon, small intestines, reproductive organs
