Consists of the bones, ligaments and cartilages that bind bones at joints
Skeletal system
Includes skin and accessory organs.
Integumentary system
Includes muscles and tendons that provide forces to move body parts
Muscular system
Consists of brain, spinal cord, nerves and sense organs
Nervous system
Includes all glands that secrete chemical messengers called hormones
Endocrine system
Includes heart, arteries, capillaries, veins and blood
Cardiovascular system
Composed of lymphatic vessels, lymph fluid, lymph nodes, thymus and spleen. Transports some of fluid from spaces in tissues back to bloodstream and carries certain fatty substances away from digestive organs
Lymphatic system
Receives food then break down food molecules into simpler forms that can be absorbed into the internal environment
Digestive system
System in which the organs take air in and out and exchange gases between the blood and air
Respiratory system
Consists of kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder and urethra
Urinary system
Contains scrotum, testes, penis and urethra
Male reproductive system
Contains ovaries, Fallopian tubes, uterus and vagina
Female reproductive system
