Activities of daily living
Assist with eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, toilet using and moving CNA is are also responsible for obtaining routine, measurements (vital signs height and weight assistant with admissions, transfers discharges and maintaining safe and clean environment
Health care team
The person receiving care is always the leader of the health care team their team is them, their family members, dietitian, physical therapist, discharge planner, nurse assistant, registered nurse, doctors, advanced practice nurse
Nursing team
Is a subject of the health care team. (registered nurse, license practitioner nurse, license vocational nurse, advanced practitioner registered nurse, certify nurse subject) nurse licensed, nurse assistant
Delegation
Authority and responsibility for completing certain task on his or her behalf (Authorized by a nurse). Also report back to nurse for update on condition of the person. Advise nurse that you completed task
Scope of practice
The task your legally permitted to do. Protects you, employer, and the person receiving care. Defined by the state your employer, your job description and giving to you by your employer
If the nurse delegates a test to you that is outside your your scope of practice, or that you do not feel qualified to perform safely you must speak up and asked the nurse to reassign the task.
Empathy
Is the quality of seeking to understand another person situation of points of view or feelings
Compassion
Is the quality of recognizing another persons hardship, accompanied By a desire to help relieve that hardship. Providing skillful care in a thoughtful way as in art
Dietitian
Using knowledge of nutrition and of the person to plan a diet that the person will enjoy and that will help him maintain or regain health
Job description
Varies from employer to employer, so you must always read each new job description carefully to make sure you know your responsibilities. perform only the task listed in your job description, unless a nurse delegates a task
Nurse assistance roll
Works under the supervision of a registered nurse or a license practical nurse to provide basic nurse care to people who are ill, injured or disabled. Nursing care seeks to care for the whole person, meeting the person’s physical and emotional needs
