Describe an organelle
What cells are made up of. They perform specific functions in a cell. Example: the nucleus is an organelle.
Describe a cell
The basic unit of all living organisms. They provide structure for the body and take in nutrients from food. Example: a plant cell.
Describe a tissue
Made up of a group of the same cells working together to perform a specific function. Example: brain tissue.
Describe an organ
Made up of a group of tissue working together to perform a specific function. Example: the heart or brain.
Describe an organ system
A group of organs working together to perform specific functions. Example: the digestive system.
