The position of anything on Earths surface
Toponym
the name given to a space on Earth
Spatial Association
The relationship between the distribution of one feature and the distribution of another feature
Culture
The body of customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits that together constitute a group’s distinctive tradition.
Site
The physical makeup of a place including its climate, water sources, and vegetation. In other words, what it looks like physically.
Situation
The location of a place in relation to other places. Situation helps us find unfamiliar places by comparing its location to one that is familiar.
Cultural Landscape
An approach to geography that emphasizes the relationships among social and physical phenomena in a particular area.
Formal/Uniform Region
An area in which everyone shares in common one or more distinctive characteristics.
Functional/Nodal Region
An area organized around a node or focal point.
Vernacular/Perceptual Region
A place that people believes exists as part of their cultural identity. A cognitive map can be example of vernacular region.
