What are the two types of school districts?
Type I and Type II are the two types of school districts. (1-5)
Name three differences between the two types of school districts.
Type I board members are appointed by the Mayor while Type II board members elected by the registered voters of the district.
In Type I school districts, taxes are determined by the Board of Education while in Type II school districts taxes are submitted to the registered voters for approval. If defeated is determined by the municipal Governing Body.
In Type I school districts, the school district’s debt in borne by the municipal government while in Type II school district the debt is the responsibility of the Board of the Education not the municipal government.
