What is the first freedom of air?
The negotiated right for an airline to fly over another signatory state’s airspace without landing
What is the second freedom of air?
The right for an aircraft to land in the territory of a signatory state for non-landing purpose (refuelling, maintenance and repair) then continuing to its destination country
What is the third freedom of air?
Passengers and cargo may be flown from its own signatory state to another signatory state
What is the fourth freedom of air?
Passengers and cargo may be picked up in another signatory state and then transferred back to the airline’s own signatory state
What is the fifth freedom of air?
Airlines may transport passengers and cargo between one signatory state and a third signatory state; however, the flight must originate or terminate in the airline’s own county.
What is the sixth freedom of air?
Airlines may pick up passengers and cargo from abroad and fly them to a third signatory state after stopping in their own country
What is the seventh freedom of air?
Airlines may transport passengers and cargo between two signatory states without taking off or landing in their own country.
What is the eighth freedom of air?
This freedom allows airlines to conduct flight within a foreign country in which is it not domiciled. The aircraft can fly from its own signatory state to the second one, where it can provide cabotage to a third signatory state.
What is the ninth freedom of air?
The right for an airline from a particular company to originate a flight in a foreign country and carry passengers from one point to another within the foreign country.
