What is the definition of globalisation?
Globalisation is the interrelatedness of the world in the social, economic, political and environmental domains.
What is the origin of Globalisation?
Although the term was coined in the 1960s, the phenomenon can be traced back to the very first human societies when they began trading or other wise interacting with other forms of social organisation.
Economic examples of Globalisation.
Outsourcing, International Trade, TNCs, the IMF ( International Monetary Fund ), EU, Nafta…
Social examples of Globalisation.
Internationalism of the English language, NGOs, the spread of western notions, human rights, Hollywood, Macdonalds…

- The rise of NICs
- The general worldwide growth in HDI levels.
Global failures of Globalisation.
- LEDCs, “global ghettoes”. Part of the global system, but often at the very bottom of it, and sometimes exploited through unfair trade. (E.g TNCs)
- The many wars
