Metabolism
Sum of reactions that take place to build up and break down the body
Homeostasis
The body’s ability to maintain a stable and constant internal condition
Ecosystem
Interconnected networks of living things
Integumentary system
This system protects our body from external damage, skin, hair, nails, sweat glands
Skeletal system
Gives our body the rigid structure so it can move and hold itself up.
Bones, tendons, ligaments, and other structures.
Muscular system
This system moves us, physically as well as blood through our vessels, food through our intestines. Also includes our skeletal muscles, cardiac muscles and smooth muscles (arteries, veins, bladder, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, uterus and more.
Nervous System
This system sends electrochemical signals that trigger thoughts, emotions, and movement as well as involuntary activity such as breathing, includes our brains as well as a vast network of nerves and supporting structures.
Endocrine system
This is our cellular communication system, it includes hormonal organs and glands, hypothalamus, pineal gland, pituitary gland, thyroid, liver, pancreas, kidney adrenal, testes, ovaries and more
