what is an earthquake?

a shaking movement of the gorund surface resulting from an energy release in the earth’s crust

what is fracking?
A
the process of opening deep rocks to access trapped fossil fuels. high pressure water breaks these rocks

what is a blind fault?
A
when a fault movement does not break through to the ground surface

what is a fault creep?
aka fault rupture
A
movement along the fault can occur by sudden displacement of the crust or by a continuous and intermittent slow movement

what are the two types of seismic waves?
A
body waves and surface waves

what is a tsunami wave?
A
it is a seismic sea wave. the seafloor rises up and the sea water rises up with it then rushes away to find a level surface
