Q
Energy flow in an ecosystem.
A
Producers (autotrophs) produce food for the food chain.
Consumers (heterotrophs) consume other organisms in the food chain. Can include decomposers at any stage. The decomposers recycle nutrients into the environment.
Energy is released as heat at every stage.

Q
The levels of biological organization in order from simple to more complex. Define each with examples.
A
1.Subatomic particle (protons, neutrons, electrons) 2.Atom (oxygen atom) 3.molecule (h2o) 4. Organelle (mitochondria, nucleus) 5. Cell 6. Tissue (skin tissue, muscle tissue) 7. Organ (stomach, liver, gall bladder) 8. Organ system (digestive system) 9. Organism (human) 10. Population (human population) 11. Community (human + bacteria) 12. Ecosystem (living organisms interacting with non living component) 13. Biosphere (earth)
