A
- Official recognition of the citizenship status of Singaporeans, through the rights given to them and the responsibilities expected of them
- Rights are liberties that citizens in a country have that are protected by the law
- Responsibilities refer to the duties of a citizen to fulfil because they are connected to other members in the community or society

- No citizen will be discriminated against on the ground of religion, race, decent or place of birth when it comes to the provision by a public authority of financial aid for education of students in any educational institution

- It comes from a shared belief that we belong to the same country
