Right hypochondriac regions
Liver and part of the upper kidney
Left Hypochondriac Region
Pancreas and the spleen
Epigastric region
Upper middle section where stomach is located. Abdominal aorta, part of pancreas, duodenum, inferior vena cava, part of the liver
Right and left lumbar regions
Middle and later regions. Most of the kidneys on either side and parts of the colon on both sides
Umbilical Region
Area around belly button. Most of small intestine or small bowel; some of mid-colon
Right and left inguinal, or iliac Regions
Lowest and most lateral of the nine subregions. Parts of the colon on both sides, some of the small bowel, and sometimes the ovaries in women
Hypogastric Region
Also called pubic region. Sigmoid Colon, the bladder, the female ovaies, female uterus
Abdominal area divided into the pars protected by the PERITONEUM
A membrane that covers most of the abdominal contents
Behind the peritoneum
Retroperitoneal Space (kidneys are in theis space)
In the eplvis, peritoneal membrane drapes over the
uterus and bladder
Lesser sac and greater sac of the stomach area is also called
Greater and lesser omenta
