Advance Emergency Medical Technician(Aemt)
Provides both basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation to patients in the prehospital environment

Community Paramedicine
Provision of patient centered health care in the out-of-hospital environment using mobile technology and resources
Emergency medical responder (EMR)
Provides immediate lifesaving care to patients who have accessed the ems system while they are waiting for higher level responders(EMTs and/or Paramedics)
Emergency Medical Technician(EMT)
Provides basic emergency medical care and transportation to patients who access the ems system.

Focuses on research to provide clear evidence that certain procedures,medications, and equipment improve the patients outcome
Direct medical oversight
Real-time oversight or medical direction provided by a physician to and ems provider who is seeking immediate feed back
Indirect medical oversight
Makes up the majority of the medical director’s responsibilities and activities.
Medical director
Physician who is legally responsible for the clinical and patient care aspects of the ems system
Medical oversight
Comprehensive term for the responsibilities of the ems systems medical director
Mobile interstates healthcare(MIH)
Provision of patient centered health care in the out-of-hospital environment using mobile technology and resources
Off-line medical direction
Provided through a set of predetermined, written guidelines, often referred to as standing orders
Online medical direction
Ems provider and physician communicate by cell phone telephone or radio or video technology with physician providing immediate feed back
On scene medical direction
Feedback and medical direction regarding the patients diagnosis condition and emergency care provided by the ems medical director physician who’s is on-scene with the ems crew
Paramedic
Skills of both emt and aemt with addition of more advanced assessment and patient management skills and provision of the highest level of prehospital care
Prehospital care
Emergency medical treatment given to patients before they are transported to a hospital or other facility
Protocols
Full set of guidelines that define the entire scope of medical care( triage treatment transport destination)
Quality improvement
Also known as continuous quality improvement is a system of internal abs external reviews and audits of all aspects of an emergency medical system
Standing orders
Subset of protocols that do not require real-time physician input
