What are the functions of the NMBI?
Regulation of nursing and midwifery professions in Ireland

What are the effects of European directives on nursing
Harmonised general nursing education programmes throughout the EU by setting minimum duration and content of these programmes
EU member states are mandated to comply with the minimum requirements and nurses educated in one member state may gain registration in another
NMBI must recognise qualifications of nurses educated and trained in non EU countries but who have been recognised in other member states
