CHAPTER 1 2 3 Flashcards
This PRESENT THE PARTS of the chapter. The content/composition of each part is described briefly (see PCC Thesis

Introduction
In this part NEED TO EXPLAIN THE REASONS WHY YOU HAVE HANDPICKED OR CHOSEN the problem from among the wide
array of problems. This is the part in which the researcher explains why he/she had an interest in conducting the
study.
Background of the Study
In this part the researcher IDENTIFIES SEVERAL THEORIES to which the study can be anchored. Then the researcher
explains on how he/she can relate the theories in his/her research work.
Theoretical Framework
PRESENTS A DIAGRAM to show the interaction/relatedness of the variables that are involved in the study. Usually the
Independent and Dependent are emphasized in this part.
Research Paradigm
The statement of the problem that clearly states the interest and of the study (Research question)
Statement of the Problem
is a statement that DEFINES THE TESTABLE RELATIONSHIP you expect to see from examining the variables in
your research. It predicts what will happen in your research
Hypothesis
is a statement that DEFINES THE TESTABLE RELATIONSHIP you expect to see from examining the variables in
your research. It predicts what will happen in your research
Hypothesis
INDICATES THE ABSENCE of a difference/relationship/ correlation between two variables, an absence of significant difference between the proportions of two groups of people, or an absence of difference between or among the means of two or more groups with respect to a particular variable.
Null hypothesis
STATES THE PRESENCE OF A SIGNIFICANT RELATIONSHIP between the independent and dependent variables, or the presence of a significant difference between two means or two proportions
alternative hypothesis
This part DISCUSSES THE BENEFACTORS AND THE BENEFITS that could be attained from the study
Significance of the Study
the study SETS PARAMETERS OF THE PROBLEM INQUIRY and narrows down the SCOPE of the inquiry
The scope and delimitation
include ALL IMPORTANT VARIABLES IN THE STUDY, especially those measured by means of specific instruments or variables. (Paradigm, Statement of the Problem, other words that readers may have difficulty in understanding)
Definition of terms
This PRESENTS THE DESIGN OF THE STUDY. This discusses the framework to which the study will be anchored and the technique chosen by the researcher to conduct the study
Research Design
This part DISCUSSES THE SITE OR LOCATION where the sampling and data collection procedure will take place
Research Locale
This part discusses the THE INDIVIDUALS WHO WILL COMPLETE A SURVEY, answer the questionnaire, shall be interviewed by
the researcher or the individuals who will provide data to be analysed by the researcher
Participants/Respondents/Subjects of the Study
