What is the difference between criminal and civil law
Criminal- what state disapproves and wants to control (enforce form of behaviour)
Civil- involves relationships between citizens (settle disputes)
What are statute and case law
Statute- made by parliament
Case- developed over time
What is the process of direct legislation
- MP debate if bill should be come law in house of commons
- Member of house of lords determine pros and cons
- Law created (act of parliament)- bill pass through HOC and HOL before royal assent

Statutory instruments (made by gov ministers)
