What did Florence Nightingale accomplish?
around the 1950s, she set a standard for nursing education. Recognized nutrition, accurate records, and continuous education.
Post Flogale what changed in the medical world?
hospitals became more advanced with technologies and began keeping records. She was able to push hand hygiene.
What did WWII do for the medical world?
WWII nurses had to leave hospitals to go on the line and LPN stayed to take over hospital setting. Diplomas were a three year course. After WWII then became more of a program with associates, bachelors, and masters.

Promote health - health is based on the person. It depends on physical, mental, spiritual, race, genetic, age, and sex.
Prevent illness
Restore health- help aid a patient recover.

What is primary health promotion?
primary is educating/screening the general overall population about health
What is secondary health promotion?
Secondary is where education/screening is targeted for a specific problem
What is tertiary health promotion?
Tertiary is where the patient has problem and needs to be educated on how to improve life.
