chap.5 Flashcards
Understand the processes of learning
left hemisphere
Controls Language and the entire right side of the body
Right Hemisphere
Excels in visuospatial tasks and is in charge of the left side of the body
Positive reinforcement
The process by which reinforcers are added or presented following a target behavior, increasing the likelihood of it occurring again.
Negative reinforcement
The removal of an unpleasant stimulus following a target behavior increasing the likelihood of happening again
Positive punishment
The addition of something unpleasant following an unwanted behavior, with the intention of decreasing that behavior
Negative Punishment
The removal of something desirable following an unwanted behavior, with the intention of decreasing that behavior.
Reinforcer
Events, stimuli, and other consequences that increase the likelihood of a behavior reoccurring.
Primary Reinforcers
Food, water, anything that satisfies a biological need
Secondary Reinforcers
anything that doesn’t satisfy a biological need, Such as money
Reinforcement
process of increasing the frequency of behaviors with consequences
