Integer
A number that is less than zero.
Negative integer
A number that is greater than zero. It can be written with or without a + sign.
Positive Integer
The distance between a number and zero on the number line.
Absolute value
Integers on the number line that are equal distance from zero, but on opposite sides of zero. Their sum is zero.
Opposite
A bar placed over digits that repeat to indicate a pattern that repeats indefinitely.
Bar notation
A number that can be written as a fraction.
Rational Number
A decimal form of a rational number. A number that has a decimal with a pattern that repeats indefinitely.
Repeating Decimal
A decimal that does not repeat.
Terminating Decimal
The four regions in a coordinate plane that are separated by the x-axis and y-axis.
