Bribery of or by a Witness

A

(1) A person CONFERS ANY BENEFIT upon a witness in any official proceeding with intent to:

 (a) Influence the testimony of that person;
 (b) Induce that person to avoid testimony; or
 (c) Induce that person to absent himself.

(2) A witness intentionally solicits, ACCEPTS any benefit as consideration:

 (a) Which will influence his testimony;
 (b) For avoiding testimony; or
 (c) For absenting from an official proceeding.

Intimidating a Witness

A

(1) A person commits the offense of intimidating a witness if he USES FORCE upon or a threat directed to a witness, with intent to:

 (a) Influence the testimony of that person;
 (b) Induce that person to avoid testimony; or
 (c) Induce that person to absent himself.

 (2)  "Threat" as used in this section means any threat proscribed by section 707-764(1).

Retaliating Against a Witness

A

The person uses/threat of FORCE upon a witness or another person or damages the property of a witness or another person because of the attendance of the witness, or any testimony given, or any record, document, or other object produced, by the witness in an official proceeding.

 (2)  "Threaten" as used in this section means any threat proscribed by sections 707-764(1) and 707-764(2).

(2) A person is guilty of the offense of bribe receiving by a juror if the person ACCEPTS ANY BENEFIT as consideration which will influence the person’s vote, opinion, decision, or other action as a juror.

A

(1) A person commits the offense of criminal contempt of court if:
(a) R, engages in DISORDERLY in court;
(b) creates a breach of peace/disturbance with intent to interrupt a court’s proceedings;
(c) K, fails duty as an attorney/clerk/other officer of the court, or disobeys a lawful directive or order of a court;

(g) K, disobeys or resists the process, injunction, or other mandate of a court;
(h) I, REFUSES to be qualified as a witness;
(i) I, FAILS to attend jury duty; or
(j) The person is in violation or disobedience of any injunction or order expressly provided for in part V of chapter 712.
