‘ skull like coconuts’ This implies a theme of death.
How does piggy present his intelligence and that he is less naive than the other boys in the first chapter?
He says ‘we ought to have a meeting.’
Ralph sees a ‘shell’ and piggy correctly identifies it as a conch.
He says’ we may stay here till we die’.
How is Jack straightaway presented as a character who enjoys having power and has little sympathy for others?
Jack is the leader of the choir and’ ‘commands’. Them to stay in line.
When piggy speaks to him he dismisses him and says ‘you’re talking too much. shut up fatty’
